I Found a Search Engine Focused on Non-Commercial, Old, and Maybe Forgotten Content

I made a video on my YT channel this week about google alternatives, and found a site called Marginalia Search, based in Sweden, that focuses on non-commercial content. That choice in this digital ecosystem means you get a lot of weird, old, and interesting stuff when you use it.

Here's the video if anyone's interested in Google alternatives, but feel free to ignore it. There are chapters for the TLDW crowd too.

I've actually used this a bit. I keep it bookmarked, mostly for cross referencing. It's nice to see a search engine exists that isn't explicitly driven by Google and/or paid promotion.

That's rad!

I only recently found it when I was researching my video, but yeah, I really enjoy it. Sometimes when I'm ideating for my journaling or video ideas I'll use the 'Explore' page and browse a bit. There's just so much interesting and unconventional content out there.
