Bread with stuff

I had dough I needed to do something with. Wife said "make bread and put stuff on it.". That sounded more interesting than French toast.

So here we are.
Top left going clockwise.
Butter & orange marmalade.
Bread grilled in butter topped with pak fried smoked mozzarella.
Butter & cinnamon and sugar. Butter & cheddar. Butter & peanut butter, raspberry preserves. Butter under smoked mozzarella, orange marmalade, raspberry preserves. Butter grilled bread, smoke mozzarella & smoke sardines, broiled. Bread and meltish cheddar.

Cost per person? I have no idea. Homemade bread was about $1.25, 80¢ of butter, $3 sardines, 75¢ smoked mozzarella. The rest is rounding errors.

This is basically high food but I don't get high.

Sweet, salty, savory, umami. Just missing spice from some jalapeño jam or otherwise. Solid snacky bits all the same.

Some spice would be a good choice. I also realized too late that I had some olive salad that I did not add. And I'm wondering what the smallest feasible batch of bruschetta is.

Olive salad on that!? Just pour me a ramekin of sambal and I'll go to town

Did you make the bread?

Yes. I make large batches of dough and I have about two weeks to figure out how I will use it.

Oooh, yeah, a little low on my butter supply after this. So I do need more butter.

Do you remember the great grilled cheese vs melt war of reddit?

Every time I talk to someone from Europe that has been in America for a while they will always mention how much they miss real bread.

It's like living in San Diego. After about four years of living there each person will say "I miss seasons." After about eight years they have absolutely zero issues with it being the same all year round. But Europeans still miss real bread after 8 years.

While each one looks tasty, it's kinda odd to eat fish and jam together :D

You reached the end
