Depending on her walking pace she would spend between 6-12 hours walking 24 miles every day.

I'm thinking it's 12 miles total. Like 2 hours there. 2 back.
2+2=12?
If she walks 12 mi at 3 mph,
12mi/3mph=4hours (miles cancels)
4 hours/2=2 hrs(there+back=4)
