I live in New York and have been legally separated for more than a year. I tried reaching out to the lawyer my wife and I used to set up our separation but they are not returning my emails or phone calls. While I was looking for another lawyer I took a peek at the divorce packet and instructions online, it certainly seems complicated but not insurmountable. I'm thinking of just tackling this myself since my wife and I are in agreement on things and all of the details are already hashed out in the separation agreement. Has anyone else gone this route? What was the outcome?
