Thanks for setting this up! Gotta figure out the layout here but Professor Farnsworth is giving me the courage I need to succeed.
Hey, thanks for creating this community. I'm a mathematician. Hoping this takes off enough to replace Reddit for me.
Hello, I'm a_statistician. I'm a stat professor at a midwestern US R1 who does data visualization and perception research and teaches statistical computing.
I decided to keep my reddit username (for old times' sake). For those making their way over, lemmy.ml is very busy right now; I signed up on lemmy.ca and had no trouble getting my account created. If I were smarter, I would find a way to do this from mastodon, but...

Thank you for creating a space for us here!
I just got tired of searching for one and decided to pull the trigger. :)
Anyone else want to help mod? I have no idea what I'm doing, lol.
Thanks!! CC Math instructor here. I've been semi-active in the reddit version of this community.
Hi, I've found it a bit difficult to find certain groups and have them show up in my feed. I swear I looked a few days ago and found nothing, now today there were a few (this community and the one on kbin). I subscribed to both to see which one becomes more popular.
I teach at a community college :). I really don't plan to visit Reddit again!
