Gardening advice please
When do we chop back fruit trees? And when can we do autumn fertilising and planting? What can we do in March to get our gardens thriving?

Our plums come through about mid October, for a 2 week harvest. SE metro. Plum-o-rama.
I don't know best time to cut, but now(March) would be good, so as to not interfere with the fruiting. Cut the inaccessible high branches down to around 2.5m high, unless you are planning to pick from a ladder.
I'm not sure either, but I just cut mine back a week ago and they're looking good with lots of new growth already.
Ok i have realised I may need more help than maybe just the internet. I am dilled with queations. Does anyone have any reccommemdations for say gardening companies who can help with gardening advice? I wish I had a Nonna to ask but alas I do not.
Local nurseries can be useful to talk to people. Maybe check out the back catalogues of gardening australia and Better Homes and Gardens to find an answer to a specific question. Or your local library might have a gardening section, if you get lucky there might be a few hyperlocal books for your area in that as well.
Finally, I know that on the first weekend of each season Kalamunda has a garden show in Stirk Park. Its fairly big, the time I went Costa from Gardening Australia was there. Kalamunda Garden Festival. Looks like the next one is on June 7th for Winter. I reckon you could find advice and gardening learning resources there, plus a nice way to spend a weekend. :)
One thing I've run into re online gardening is the northern vs southern hemisphere thing. Eg, US & UK are just coming into spring, while we're just going into autumn.
So, when an article says "Prune in September/October", make sure you check and know where the source is from. It may be completely 180 degrees/6 months wrong.
