Reading needs to be ingrained before school even starts, I was reading on my own at 4, was well ahead of all the other students throughout all of schooling in reading comprehension and speed despite learning disabilities.
If you don't learn to enjoy it then you will dread having to do it for homework and stumble through having to read out loud in class in front of other students.

This is getting way too ridiculous!!! We need to reform our education system now!!! :-(
