💻🐧 MoribundMurdoch’s Favorite Linux Applications (March 2, 2026)

Here’s a smattering of the linux software I'm into right now.

OS: Arch Linux (Cinnamon, X11) Philosophy: Flatpak-first whenever possible.

Why Flatpak? Because I like:

• Easy installs • Easy removals (no orphan dependency chaos) • Fewer system-level conflicts • GUI tools because I'm small brain

I try to keep things “noob-friendly Murdoch usable” — meaning simple, reversible, and maintainable.

Warehouse Flatpak package manager with a GUI. Great for inspecting, managing, and removing Flatpak apps. https://flathub.org/en/apps/io.github.flattool.Warehouse

LocalSend Local network file sharing without external servers. Fast device-to-device transfers over LAN. https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.localsend.localsend_app

VokoscreenNG Simple screen recorder. I mainly use it for recording selected screen regions (like area screenshots, but video). https://flathub.org/en/apps/com.github.vkohaupt.vokoscreenNG

Facetracker Webcam-based face tracking. Useful for Vtubing https://flathub.org/en/apps/de.z_ray.Facetracker
