The US released a carefully selected, highly blacked out, portion of the Epstein files. Targeted, more than generally released.

Problem is that even when guilt is crystal-clear, that's not enough to result in consequences

Has anyone been arrested overseas for raping children? All I've seen is arrests for giving Epstein classified information.

The evidence for raping children is circumstantial, the evidence for disclosing classified information or financial crimes is directly in the files.

Is this even the worst he is publicly known to have done? The 2020 coup attempt and aiding the GRU in attacking domestic targets (both of which are outright treason) rank higher in my view, and would be slam-dunk convictions in any country with a functioning legal system and a modicum of democracy.

No consquences for crime if you're rich in the US. Look at your government, almost all of them are criminals, tax evaders and misogynists.

The US released some of the Epstein files. We still have a long way to go before the article title is a correct statement. The overseas arrests part is accurate though.

No NYT, Epstein affiliated newspaper, the US hasn't released the Epstein files, the US has only released 2% of the Epstein files with hundreds of terabytes left undisclosed.
