[Not OP, copied text] PROTEST. Roblox Blackout

Roblox is refusing the input of all us developers, but not just us developers, the players too.
Roblox is ignoring the people that let it exist, the only reason they can function as a company is because of us, and because of this, I propose a blackout.
It may have not worked in other historical examples, but on other sites they didn’t need the developers to function, only the users.
This is the platform roblox wanted, so we must show them what happens to platforms when they’re like this.
Give them the same silence they give us, give them it until they listen.

The Proposal

The team create change will take effect March, so how about we beat them to the goalpost?

March 1st, shutdown your games for one week. Put gamepasses off sale, don’t let anyone patronize Roblox. Make players rowdy, make shareholders scared.

The only thing we need is media coverage. I know I may just be one person, but we need to band together. Tell your friends, tell your family, talk to old developers you used to work with, talk to ones you STILL work with.
I understand that this is not going to be something we can do freely, as many people’s livelihoods are relying on Roblox, but if we don’t make them see the grim reality of their decisions, then Roblox will continue dying the slow death they’re currently subjecting it to. You will lose your jobs and your games at this rate anyway, make them see their mistakes and they have a chance to revert it, they have a chance to survive.
Make sure your players know, too, make sure everyone you can tell knows. This will not be something quickly assembled, but we need it.

“This is a bad idea, we don’t have enough support”

No, that’s not true, that’s exactly what they WANT us to think, and you must see that. Roblox is wanting us to feel hopeless and directionless; they want us to conform, do not let them win. You may not have many connections yourself, but I almost guarantee you know somebody who does. Word of mouth is practically the only chance we have. Rioting will not give us revolution, only cooperation will.
This is not going to be the only post I make on it, but I encourage you to make your own posts, too, bring discussion in every form you can. We need this. Protest, rebel, save your jobs and save the children Roblox is neglecting here.

I am sure you all agree this is a good idea, but I know you’re definitely hesitant or are thinking nothing will come of this, but once again, that’s how they want you to feel. Don’t let that stop you, let everyone know. If one front game page were to close down, just ONE, that is such a significant hit to Roblox’s profits, it would make a difference. We need this.
I advise using the hashtag #RobloxBlackout2026 or similar to have a global means of spreading information, regardless of platform.
Don’t give up. We developers need this more than anyone.

OP notes:
Roblox is attempting to hide this. We CANNOT let them do it as it will undermine the effect of the protest. Please spread it to the Discord/Fluxer/Revolt servers for those games.

About the hashtag mention (#RobloxBlackout2026), you can create posts about it on any federated microblogging platform (i.e. Mastodon).

For us users this is what we're going to do next: Deactivate your Roblox accounts, block it from your own network, uninstall the clients, look for and/or move to an alternative like OpenBlox* or Okutu (also in Codeberg).
