Oh wow, a store update. I'm sure that's the content everyone is waiting for. /s
I don't imagine we're gonna get much in the way of actual updates until Season 10 drops. Kinda wish we could at least get some teasers in the meantime, but Embark's been real quiet about S10 so far.
Yeah I get that. It was a bit of a bad-faith comment. It's just a bit hard to bear that we didn't really hear much about the future of the game (no roadmap) and the tournament controversy wasn't really addressed (AFAIK). This makes the impression that they don't even know themselves what exactly is going to happen to this game.
It's still a great game, but with declining player numbers it becomes harder and harder (because the remaining players are more likely to be try-hards) which will make more and more people on the lower end of the skill bracket leave, which makes the gamer harder and so on. It's basically on a death spiral and I don't really see anything that can prevent the game from dying over the next half year or so.
