Razor: Filarmónica 14 Doble Temple (8/8, extra full hollow, red scales)
Lather: Barrister and Mann – Nordost
Post Shave: Barrister and Mann – Seville
Fragrance: Imaginary Authors – Sundrunk
Colour-coordinated shot of an Αλφα Rubberset 400 Tribute brush with red handle, a Fili 14 with red scales, orange bottles of BaM Seville splash and Imaginary Authors Sundrunk frag, and an orange sample tub of BaM Nordost
When I first used my Friodur 14, I noted how safe it felt. This form factor if a big blade with this extra hollow grind gives it a very deliberate feeling, like there can't be any surprises shaving with them. The pristine first generation Fili 14 of @[email protected] gave me the same impression, and I'm happy to feel the same way with this (probably second generation?) Fili I just got.
Nordost always makes me happy and I may need to get myself a full tub of it.
I made the rule that I won't shave after 22:00 with a straight, but I felt confident enough to break it. I was right. Good shave overall, though I got 2 weepers on the chin. The whole process felt better than on Friday.
Brush: Craving Shaving Blue Bronze 26mm Crave Knot
Razor: Betued Shavette
Blade: Feather Artist Club Professional [2]
Lather: Noble Otter - Barrbarr - Soap
Post Shave: Summer Break Soaps - Valedictorian - Aftershave
Today was a bloody comedy of errors. I managed to give myself a couple nicks due to what I'll call a sudden loss of hand-eye coordination, but the actual shave was surprisingly good. I didn't have any feedback from the aftershave.
Afterwards, while cleaning the razor, the blade clamping mechanism unexpectedly popped open. The AC blade fell into the sink and went straight down the drain. I guess I'll be trying to figure out how to take apart the sink trap later.
Luckily the scents of Barrbarr and Valedictorian made the experience better.
Post Shave: Saponificio Varesino - 70th Anniversary - Aftershave
Post Shave: Thayers - Rose - Toner
Fragrance: Saponificio Varesino - 70th Anniversary - Eau de Parfum
3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was my first shave with the Koraat 14-2.0. I ordered it in March and it was completed in late July. US Customs decided it would be fun to keep the box for over 3 weeks and I finally received it in late August during Days of Weckoning. This is the second Koraat razor that I have ordered. As a knife guy, I like the idea of ordering a straight razor from a company called Koraat Knives. Ulrik, the proprietor, is terrific to work with and the quality of his work is exceptional.
How did it shave? Even better than it looks! [Well, I think it looks amazing.] This model is Ulrik's take on a Filarmonica 14 - a V2.0. It has everything the Fili 14 has with a significant bump up in craftsmanship. I have a Gen 1 Fili 14 too. As @[email protected] has pointed out, these "14" style razors (8/8" - full hollow - great steel) stand apart from everything else. You won't be seeing this baby on the 'zaar!
Post Shave: Henri et Victoria - Costa - Aftershave
Ok shave. This razor is a bit wider and provides unique challenges to obtaining a good shave. This soap is relatively difficult to work with as well it is very easily over hydrated.

Deep Blue Sea++;
Agreed. I bought it based on recommendations from the wetshaving community for my honeymoon to the Virgin Islands.
Nice! Congrats, too!
Thanks man!

Barrbarr++; and Valedictorian is one of my all time favourites.
Digging AC blades out of sink traps wasn't in the hobby description when I joined😬
Good luck with that!
Lol, it most certainly was not. Thanks!

This razor is painfully beautiful, Ulrik really did a fantastic job there! And I'm glad to hear it shaves well, too!
Thank you. We spent time on the specs. You never really know, though, until the physical item is in hand.
