Frank (Rutger Hauer) has been convicted of stealing millions of dollars in diamonds, which have not been recovered. In his unisex prison, each inmate has an unknown partner. When the two are separated by more than one hundred yards, an explosive collar kills both inmates. Holy shit, I’m virtually certain I’ve seen this (and under the original title!)
I saw it in the 90s too, but I think for years I conflated it with another future prison movie, Fortress with Christopher Lambert.
I also saw that one. Not to be confused with No Escape starring Ray Liotta.
Shit! I think I conflated with that one, too!
Gonna have to organize a triple bill to clear up the confusion.
It’s the only logical course of action
