It's absurd to me how broken the thing that passes for journalism is here.
Reporting things in plain language will both cause them to lose access, making future reporting harder, and cause billionaires to fund lawsuits to bring down the paper.

Yes, outlets with no access to lose, no ads, and don't cover non-political content can do things. You can't get local coverage that way though
