I spent some time restoring this razor for a friend yesterday, and this was the test shave. The edge is 85% there and I got a close shave, but it didn't feel all that great. I'll be doing some more work before trying it again.
I'm happy with the rest of the restoration, though. It wasn't in bad shape to begin with, but I spent some time polishing it with Flitz, then hammered the pin to tighten up the scales a tad, then honed.
Fragrance: Saponificio Varesino - 80th Anniversary - Eau de Parfum
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was my first use of 80th Anniversary by Saponificiio Varesino. It has a wonderful scent which I felt was in the Bleu de Chanel category. The soap, splash, EdP, razor, and blade performed flawlessly together. This was a very enjoyable shave.
Although the weather is getting milder here, I felt like I needed a warm scent today and Autumn Ash sure fits that bill. My soap is nothing but a memory now but I have about 2/3 of the frag left.
That's a SV soap I do not have. I would love to join in for March. I just shaved with 80th Anniversary the other day. I found it in the Bleu de Chanel category. Very nice imo.
I didn't have the theme soap, but I did have a sample from Catie's Bubbles. I think this is my first use of this brand. It's a nice base. I thought I messed up adding too much water, but I got a bowl of zero-structure, plant-based yogurt. It was fabulously messy and slick.
I couldn't find scent notes for this. On Discord, Mr. C. Bubbles confirmed this was a kitchen sink accord. I referred to my in-house judge and asked her if she could smell lily of the valley in it. She said, "What?" So, I'll not claim this sample has a matching scent note in it. But it probably does.

Today's challenge soap is Catie's Bubbles - Muguet. Scent notes: Lily of the Valley.
I don't have Muguet, but have several soaps from Catie's Bubbles. His premium base is one of my favorites. Usually when I shave with it, I wonder why I ever use anything else.
Lotion: Humble Bee Botanicals "Calendulove" Face Cream
Fragrance: Stirling Rambling Man EdT
Another nice shave, again approaching DFS. First pass WTG 2nd pass XTG excluding the neck. This soap is soy wax based, as was another of my favorites in the past. Maybe I'm just a soy wax boy.
I like rambling man: fresh, modern, some kind of mildly bitter background note makes it feel sophisticated.

The Geneva Cutlery razors are overlooked. Great razors!

It's a beautiful day outside, and I was looking for something more summer-themed. Le Grand Chypre is always great.
Have a good evening!
Shared via emacs & sotd.elIt certainly is!
btw, for March BVWSC, it will be Tundra Artica. Do you have the soap, or do I send it to you?

Ok, I'll send you some!
Thank you!

Ramblin’ Man++
It’s one of my wife’s favorites, so it sees fairly regular use before date nights. :)
