Solar eclipse Spain- find a spot.

Hello whoever stumbles upon this post!

Looking for advice and ideas. 11/08/2026 will travel to Porto, Portugal with a plan to get a rental and travel to Spain. Idea is to find a hotel somewhere between Porto, Portugal and Leon, Spain and on the big day travel somewhere around Leon to find a viewing area.

Maybe someone could advise how to really choose a viewing spot? Is getting snacks and parking on random roadside would be a good idea? Never been to Spain, so had to imagine what to expect!

wow nice! I didn’t really check Iceland option that much, because of cost. But would love to go to Iceland some other time! Hope you will have an amazing trip!!!

Hope you find a spot in mainland Europe! I expect it'll be limited and costly at this point (I booked in September and things were mostly booked).

i check, and, in my opinion, it’s that bad, could find quite many decent places, especially becaue we are splitting in half and because we are so much more flexible with car. £200 for 2nights for 2, not bad at all

Hi

I'll be travelling from France, and without a car, so I'm looking for the same information and with additional challenges lol

Did you find anything useful ?
