I've moved all my docker containers to rootless podman. Took me a bit since I also moved to using quadlets but everything ended up working. Quite happy with the change. The only downside is the lack of GUI to manage quadlets other than podman desktop.

I'd always get errors with the /tmp folder when running rootless, I hope its better now.
