Is there a way to disable live updates?

All of the communication between your browser and the server is being overhauled in the next version of Lemmy, and it seems that for the time being, this will also disable live updates!
i think i ought to at least disable notifications until they do
Wow, I've never seen that behavior. I'm fairly certain that it must be a bug. Reminds me of a Solitaire victory 😂
it's likely just all the tabs I had waiting on queue sending the notification at once
I agree. And sometimes it bugs out and then floods the timeline with all kinds of (old) posts and you can't make it stahp! :)
Yeah mine lately randomly floods with what looks like an entire German instance’s feed, and then switch back to normal as I scroll
