I have a friend who moved to Paris two years ago with her two kids. They are attending school with a full-on immersion experience, plus are living in a country surrounded by the language, and they are not even fluent yet. They are doing much better than her, but it is a slow process and they have resorted to having days where everyone has to speak french in the home just to force them to think in the language. If I sent my kids to french immersion, I absolutely would have taken lessons myself in order to help bring it into the home. She has nothing but time and money, so she could have easily got herself lessons or a tutor.
