Windows 11 long path limit

From Youtube and Google.

I see that long path limit can be turn off, but not in File explorer.

Is there a way to enable long path in File Explorer or an open source software to use as a file explorer replacement that is seamless?

I don't care about software incompatibility, I could move some file manually and open in softwares that doesn't support long path.

Those long path limits are so annoying.

I can't help since I switched to Linux, but yeah those long path limits man. Oh and maybe Explorer ++ works IDK. I used it for a bit because the native File Explorer stopped working for a few months. Might be worth a shot.

Replying for prosperity sake:

I tried several alternatives to windows Microsoft File Explorer including Explorer++ The integration is not seamless.

The long path limit is too low just 266 or 254 or soemthing

Lastly, I am cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs

Is this data ON your Windows computer, or are you mounting it from a NAS?

If it's on a NAS you can sometimes get around this by having more mounts further up the tree.

Apparently, there is still nothing, except Linux.

But I am stuck on windows, and my brain can't handle dual boot stuff.

I constantly reach the limit, and I have MCI (memory issues) ans I need long path.

I wish if folders in windows could have like a metadata tags like description and search tags and I could view the description by tool tips

And years ago.

I found a solution BUT it wasn't robust enough.

Lots of options on Linux.

Maybe as a workaround you could add loose files with the rest of the filename and metadata into the folder, if you're only dealing with long folder names?

Files in the folder containing the rest of the data. Like cutting the folder name in half and having the rest of it as the filename of a .txt file inside it.

You reached the end
