If you're a fascist who needs to believe in the righteousness of your movement, there's every reason to believe it.
Well why wouldn't they? This is the point, to use fear and violence against anyone and have full immunity. That is exactly why they are there. The outrage makes no sense.

It's sad that my first thought is, "I hope that ice agent was exercising enough self control to aim for a less critical body part." However, it's more likely that ice agent had storm trooper aim.
