Zelensky is absolutely holding up on that "peace deal", and for the right reason.
It's always whoever he spoke with last. As such any statements are meaningless.
His words hold less meaning, but they are often a mirror of others. And unfortunately, these words mirror the opinions of his own staff members.

Exactly. The current "peace deal" is essentially give Russia everything it wants and ask no questions.
That's just a total surrender by a different name, and Ukraine has every right not to agree to that, given they're the ones being attacked completely unprovoked.
Well, this peace process yes, but otherwise Ukraine wants peace. A just peace, even a not super just peace. Putin does not want peace at all.

As far as I can tell, Russia's terms are, and always have been, that they want the land they stole and nothing less.
Maybe someone should tell Russia that trying to strongarm terms that nobody would agree to (short of putting a gun to their head) is obviously going to hold up talks.
As far as I remember, their terms were all the stolen land and some more on top of it. So yeah, I hope they get nothing instead, and pay for everything
