Seeking recommendations for audio interfaces that work well out of the box
I'm seeking recommendations of audio interfaces that work well out of the box with Linux. Meaning little to know configuration and tweaking needed.
Also, feel free to share audio interfaces that don't work well out of the box, as a warning for those to be aware.
I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (gen.2) that has been working perfectly for many years. It's an old model, maybe check online for more info about the latest model. Anyway, it's a very small and entry-level audio interface. I'm not sure what you are after.
I second the Focusrite recommendation, as there are very good drivers written for the more recent models, and they're pretty reliable gear overall. Some have internal matrix mixers, which with some scripts could make them functional digital mixers, even.
The main thing you want, if choosing from unknowns, is that the interface be "Class Compliant," which means that Linux should just know how to deal with it without any ado.
