This is just gaslighting. The us can already set up military bases in Greenland. But they decided to get rid of some instead.
This isn't about security. It is about a corrupt president who wants the Epstein files to be forgotten and maybe about resources but looking at the competence of the administration, someone probably just played too much Risk...
It also legitimizes Russias war in Ukraine, which is just sort of a bonus for Trump

Nah, they already did this with Venezuela. Assholes basically said "we are strong so we can do whatever we want" so the same can apply to russia (if you ignore how shitty their weapons turned out to be).
By normalizing forceful border changes and land grabs.
Personally I suspect it's actually about Vance and Miller needing a way to get Trump's attention back from Rubio after Venezuela. Trump is currently fixated on military intervention after he got a "win" so they need a target they know Rubio won't follow them on, hence Greenland.
Were that true, they're really bad at it. Everyone knows that if you're gonna sabre-rattle about taking an island nation, New Zealand is the one you want. Plus, never ally yourself with anyone dumb enough to get into a land-war in Ukraine.
