Boox starter guide?

I know this is a long shot, but are there any good boox starter guides online? I just got the Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II). I plan on using it for… reading.

I plan on installing the bookshop.org app, the Libby and other library apps, and figuring out how to read news. Maybe Substack?

I don’t know if I’ll put Lemmy and mastodon apps on it.

So any guide that’s geared around setting up your Boox so you can grab it, sit down, and read. Even blog posts that describe how people are using theirs.

Or if anyone has any tips?

Thanks.

My Boox eReader didn't come with Google play services so that was the first thing I downloaded. But it looks like on your device it does come with it.

If it's not activated: Go to Apps > App management > Enable Google Play > GSF ID to activate the Google account first.

That way you can download the apps you want to use (bookshop.org, libby etc). After that maybe download a browser you like and set it as default. Boox has a browser but I prefer Waterfox so that's what I went with.

I use an RSS feed for news so I use the browser for that. I can link a guide if you'd like but you might be better off just getting a news app.

Pretty much the rest of it involves downloading or transferring books onto the thing and that's fairly straight forward. You can hook it up to a PC and drag/drop your epub formatted books onto it. Or download them from an app or your choice. Or download a library app.

I'm not sure what else you need?

Thanks. Good browser tip. I need to reconstruct an rss feed.
