So... lots of people have a say, not exclusively Apple, as per Anafabula's statement?

If Apple (or Google for that matter) proposes a new Emoji it will get approved 101% of the times.

Honestly, I am a bit surprised the Government of India hasn't pushed for an won this fight already. (Though as one that has not traveled to India, I am uncertain if Indians uses Kettles as much as the British.)

I've delved into the darkest corners of the "character map", and offer you the following kettles (or watering cans, depending on the font you're using):

Ah, but that’s a US power plug, do you want to wait 8 minutes for the meagre dribble of volts they provide to eventually boil the water? Not like our glorious high speed kettles. How about:

🫖♨️⚡️

29

The USness of the plug is a font issue. I don't believe the Unicode standard specifies. Switch to a UK English font.

6

Ah the plug unification fiasco, truly the Unicode consortium’s greatest error

Looks like a type F or type C plug to me, got em all over Europe.

This was why it was a terrible idea adding emoji to unicode in the first place. It's inevitable that now you need to provide little pictures for every single goddamn household object and every single possible facial expression (and there's STILL no adequate confused face)

You reached the end
