I'm not a car guy, but I honestly found this pretty interesting. He mostly adds small things to the old engine to improve its efficiency. Like creating a small "add on" that allows him to track in what part of the "cycle" the engine is, which helps when you need those infos for a computer.

Meh, this has been done a lot.

One of my brothers has done this to half a dozen cars. It's pretty easy to do.

First car we upgraded was in about 1985, by adding modern electronic fuel injection (a simple bolt-on kit from Holly) to a 1970 V8. It ran so much better with significantly improved fuel economy.

Since then my brother has done engine swaps on numerous cars (like using other brands of engines - the Honda B series and Toyota Supra engine are popular swaps). His 30 year old Hondas have new engines that run flawlessly.

I suppose turning it into an electric car would be "better", but it also wouldn't be as interesting for a video. Again, not a car person, but there should be plenty of people who give vintage cars electric motors and other comfort features, no?

Plus this is a very small car, no room for batteries, and the suspension isn't designed for the weight.

You could swap the suspension, and upgrade the supports to deal with the weight, but there comes a point where you're just lifting the body and putting it over an entirely new car.

You reached the end
