Many in my family talk this way, except for they skip the "where were we?" part and just go on talking about the next thing that comes to mind.

It drives me crazy at times because I can't help but follow along when people tell me stuff.

I knew a girl through marching band in college that was like a fire hose of word vomit except it wasn't a story, just pure unfiltered internal monologue. If you listened closely you'd hear some real gems, but it was near impossible to focus on for any appreciable amount of time.

It's what happens after a lifetime of Ritalin, sugar, caffeine and antidepressants.

I have a couple of friends like this who've been on psychological drugs for years ... at one point they have a hard time just relating to anything or anyone and just endlessly talk without realizing it.
