Good to talk to you after you're daydreaming. If you actively listen, how do you do it?

I can't always. In my brain, I listen, identify objective/goal (difficult to do with those who speak in paragraphs), then queue a response but politely wait for my turn.

Unfortunately, this aligns with "waiting to talk" rather than "listening and responding."

I try my best but sometimes I find myself snapping back to the conversation, not knowing what happened for the last 10-15 seconds while I was off wondering how it was decided to cook bread again to make toast.

just like me fr fr. Really listening and responding has to be a conscious choice for me and it requires repetition and practice. When the situation allows for it, writing down what's on my mind helps a lot.
