This is so, so phenomenally inappropriate, that it's frankly impressive.

I would think it was almost fake if I didn’t see it myself. I had to create this community just to share it since it was so unbelievable.

This is shockingly insane but I burst out laughing when I checked and saw you did indeed create the community specifically for this. It's a great opener... or terrible? Or greatly terrible. I don't even know. Yikes

17

I love that this community was created for this. It's beautiful

If you've spent any appreciable amount of time on the internet it's not impressive at all. Although I guess this kind of garbage does seem less common place than it was back in the day.

Update from OP

This was re-edited as a user in this thread pointed out the names weren’t completely hidden.

If it's a comment on their post couldn't they just delete the post and repost it fresh?

17
lemmy.world

I’m sure they could. It’s a little wild that FB doesn’t see a problem with the comment even after it was reported.

Why would it be deleted by Facebook? It's quite rude, but doesn't break any standards like gate speech or pornography

If you don't think an attack on a person's child committing suicide breaks standards of human behaviour, you might want to check into a human behaviour standards course.

It's not an attack, it's a rude comment (very rude).

Yes. Keep thinking that way. You'll find ZERO normal people agreeing with you, mind. You might need to go out, touch grass, talk to people who aren't permanently wired.

Tip: the outside world is where the unfair people/situations are. Try your own advice.

People are gonna say mean things to you in life and that's just how it goes

I’ve reported so many scams in buy&sell and marketplace groups on facebook and they always tell me it doesn’t go against community guidelines.

I don't know what's more abhorrent: the fact that someone wrote that, or that Facebook refuses to take it down.

Maybe it's a "but then they win" perspective. This guy seems to literally be trying to bully the OP into not posting this meme. The content itself may be inconsequential but maybe they're hung up on the principle.

He should dox the mother fucker and show that guys "family and friends" on Facebook what the piece of shit actually said.

6

I was thinking of he could share the name at least the internet could mass report that guy/comment. I believe mass reporting works better than just a few people.

Why even black out the names if you aren't using 100% opacity. We can still see the names...

I have to admit after not having an account for 10y+ i created one a month ago because some community I participate in had an FB group. I also finally can take benefit of the marketplace which I think a lot of people are selling on.

5

I haven't had an account for many years but the marketplace always makes it tempting to come back. People please use craigslist again...

I’m floored honestly. What a cesspool. And apparently the commentor blocked the OP after posting and apparently this comment reply is just “stuck” there.

Remove Facebook from your life... my account exists because a few games keep save files there. Haven't logged in ages, don't remember my PW, don't give a shit. FB is crap

4

Remove surveillance-capitalist antisocial media from your life. Facebook. Instagram. Echs(née Twitter). Tiktok. Whatever. If it's capitalist and "free", it's fucking terrible and only gets worse, never better.

2

this content doesn't go against our community standards.

Can't argue with that one. Facebook is a shit hole.

11

I think it's the one who commented who wants to delete the comment. The one who made the post might be ok with the commenter showing himself as a POS for everyone to see. Or maybe the one who posted is OP, I'm confused.
