[August 27, 1923] A washout caused by heavy rains in Indiana derail a train. One dead, four injured.

A washout occurred near Suman, Indiana, causing the train to derail and slide down a twenty foot embankment. The engineer, George Novenger, was killed when the engine fell over and pinned him underneath. Four passengers were also injured.
