They do ofcourse know the next lap they will put in, which is useful to know, but it does seem like they might lose track position because everyone got bunched up again.

1

Piastri looks so out of it on the podium. Still thinking how his team has cost him the race.

Race direction AGAIN failing to show actual gaps between cars... Morons.

9

Damn, this 'Abu' guy came out of left field to nab the championship.

Crazy car performace for McLaren. Seeing this, one questions how max is even in this title battle

Indeed, this makes me suspect they'll have enough pace to catch up to Verstappen in their last stint.

This Alonso train sure is something. He's actually going to buy the McLarens a pitstop window.

7

This has the potential to be:

  • A tedious procession
  • A massive controversy
  • A thrilling penultimate race
5

watching it on my PC instead of the TV so I can start up a game at the same time...

3

Either damage, puncture or maybe low fuel or something. He was crawling for that last two laps.

4

1.8s pit stop? Wow. McLaren did the same here two years ago.

4

If they don't make Lando the P1 driver now if Max is ahead of both of them next race they are even dumber than we've already seen.

Norris staying ahead of Alonso is great for him. Good pit stop.

3

Welcome back "penalty for not serving penalty correctly" Ocon.

Edit: No further investigation.

2

Now the true pace advantage of the McLaren cars will be revealed. At least for the first few laps, their pace has been incredible.

They count in different circumstances, so why wouldn't they?

Less load on the tyre since they are going very slow and not hitting the curbs? It does seem it is counted

2

It'd probably be hard to keep track of slow vs fast laps so it makes sense to count any and all laps.

4

That Ocon pitted after the fact makes McLaren's strategy seem even worse than it already did

Guys I think "papaya rules" means "fuck Norris over"

1

not really they hoped for safety car and with no max they will have been safe potentially

5

If it hadn't been used to fuck over Piastri as much, I would agree. It's just a stupid saying they have hoping that their drivers never have to actually go head to head directly.

Norris might run out of laps to catch Sainz.

1

Looks like he might run out of laps to catch Antonelli as well.

I doubt Antonnelli will even try to defend, but imagine the world where he actually keeps him behind him...

1

He is indeed! Great to see. Will be exciting to see what happens when they get within a second of Sainz.

Calling it: the Mclarens both out in turn 1 after Georpedo bumps Norris into Piastri.

0

George is going to need a race and a half to get back into a position where he can do that now!
