EOS ELAN Reusability

Hi everyone, I have a very old ELAN that was gifted to me a few years ago. As of late I've been hating my phone camera and would like a dedicated device for taking photos. First time looking at DSLRs, so anyone with knowledge... Would the lens be any good on a digital camera body? Would it be more trouble than it's worth?

The lens is EF mount, which is still fully compatible with most of Canon’s lineup. The kit lens that was normally sold was a EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 USM which is kinda junk. If it has a different lens it might be worth using. The kit lens that you’d get with any DSLR will be of the same general quality.

Thanks for the response 💙 Yea, it's one of those. I'll hold off some more. The idea was to pick up a second hand digital body to just swap it.
