I've been trying to write this piece for years. Every time I get started I'm just overwhelmed with paralyzing visions of the FOSS commentariat accusing me of WrongThink, more so here on the fediverse than anywhere else.
But I'm scared and tired and we urgently need to get our shit together.

Typo on “Free, Open Source Software does not a social movement make.” Presumably “does not make a”?
Not a typo, just an old formulation that's sometimes used. See https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/52596/proper-usage-origin-of-the-generic-phrase-action-phrase-does-not-a-noun-mak for some discussion.
