I legit made ragebait about like one of the worst things to ragebait about and like to be honest its not like I hate someone for not being fortunate but still I messed up and idk how to actually own up for it and stuff. once again im sorry

Downvote is against the post, not against the user.
Usually around the fediverse (aka: platforms like Lemmy) are more left-leaning, so by default, people assume you're trolling, but it's fine. In the English language, some people ask questions that seem innocent, but is secretly trying to push an agenda. People just assumed that it was what you were doing.
There are some platforms here that do have a karma system. Mbin does, and I think Piefed iirc had a similar but not same scoring system for users too.
Piefed gives warning signs on an account that has 90% of their posts downvoted not necessarily scoring
