Question re: speed of HRT
So far HRT is going very well, I'm generally much happier.
tho I'm wondering a few things for my femmaxxing :3
- How do I train 'curves'? What's the best routine? I know getting weight in the first few months may help, but what about exercise? Do these help with getting more 'meat' on my butt, hips, and breasts? If so, what kind of exercises should I do?
- What kind of food to eat would help best?
- Is a growth from 75B to 80C in 7 months slow or quick?
- Any things I could do to appear more fem? I already wear high-waisted jeans, and I wear a bra. I prefer a generally 'neutral' ish fashion (neither very skirty nor motorjacketty), kinda tomboyish, though I'm fine with other options also.
- I take a more femme walk (the hrt unironically helps me with that) nowadays as well. Behaviour ideas, maybe?
- fill in whatever tips, i'm happy to answer questions!
and also, shork
HRT (and transition) is a marathon, not a sprint. The biggest changes will happen in the first two years, but you will still see changes 5 years in and even beyond that. External factors will also cause a lot of changes during that time.
For fashion, you mentioned high waist, that definitely helps. Anything that creates curves helps. I like dresses and coats that have a waist cinch.
As long as you're comfortable, you're doing well and don't need to fret about the little details.
Signed, 11+ years here
but I wanna speedrun this, i'm already like 28 yo :<
jokes aside, you're right, it's a marathon, not a sprint. and.. 11 years in, respect.
a waist cinch is certainly a great idea!
Yeah I'm 48 and a year in to HRT and feel that desire to hurry up before I get droopy...LOL. Originally I didn't want breast augmentation or surgical body sculpting, but I just want clothes to fit right so, so badly.
Honestly, you don't do much of anything except wait when it comes to the results of HRT. You want to keep an eye on your levels and make sure your doctor isn't giving you too low a level, but otherwise, it's just a case of wait and see.
HRT will cause new fat you lay down to lay down in different areas. But it takes time for everything to adjust and you might be able to nudge it here and there, but basically, it takes as long as it takes.
I'm about 8 years in myself, and not much is changing these days (well, except for aging). But things were changing until around 5 or 6 years in.
But, there's lots you can do that isn't just waiting for HRT. These days, I pretty much don't do much of anything special in terms of getting dressed up and super fem, but my first couple of years were pretty much constant experimenting. I got a lot of good results from learning how to do basic makeup. I had no idea what my style was, so I just fucked around and found out (in a good way). That's what you need to do :)
How often would I need to have my E checked?
Whenever your dose changes, and a few months after you've been on a particular dose.
There's no "right" level, but there are quite a few doctors out there who under prescribe, so basically (for you, not the doctor) it's just to give you peace of mind.
Oh true, I got underprescribed initially and now I'm doing 3 sprays a day.
Here's my two cents, approaching 20 months on HRT. All based on personal experience, I'm not a professional. If you disagree with some of this stuff, that's fine, we're not all the same.
aww, thank you so much for the good tips!! ๐ฅน
everyone's tips have helped but these are esp awesome!
i did the apartment thingy already -- and it def did help!
You're welcome! Also, something I forgot: Take care of your hair. Long, well cared-for hair helps you appear more feminine. Get a professional cut and ask the person cutting your hair for advice on hair care and which cut they think is best for you. A wolf cut is often a good start. Bangs are almost always a good idea! If you have rather dry hair / scalp you can probably ditch shampoo entirely and just co-wash. Embrace curls / waves if you have them. Get your eyebrows done professionally and then pluck them yourself, maintaining the shape.
What the others said is true, but:
I may be losing my shit but I swear my boobs have grown each time I get off. So, heighten that oxytocin I guess
it ain't going that fast for me but i noticed my boobs seem to be growing in phases where it's like --
spurt, then a long time nothing, then sudden spurt, then nothing, and so on
Regarding weight changes and redistribution, I wanted to ask if your weight gain and loss happened over long or short periods of time? I've read that quick weight loss and the gain will mostly put the fat where it has been previously, so male distribution of fat remains in place. So weight cycling for redistribution purposes requires slower cycles of gain and loss (which seems to track people's experiences of seeing the changes over years).
edit: I think this is related to "fat memory":

That's what I'm also trying to do, and it seems to help a little bit.
I do this:
