It seems like such a geopolitical no-brainer for the US - you'd think a quite small amount of money would go an enormous way in building goodwill and friendship with the Pacific islanders.
It really does, and I am left wondering why the US isn’t. This is especially true given the recent meeting between the US, Japan, and South Korea.
It’s true there is likely information we don’t have access to that may be influencing the decision, but I really can’t imagine what that would be.
It’s a head scratcher.
