Would this be considered c/WitchesVsPatriarchy?

Wasn't that kind of the point? If they died they were innocent and if they survived they were a witch.

I always thought if they were real witches why didn't they defend themselves? i got 2 ideas:

1. powers were trash for practical use cases
2. from Charmed: they didn't want to go into exile with their family and dying preserved the reputation enough for some to take in kids.

Plot twist: he's the only one in town who isn't a witch, and they've all just been humoring him by teleporting out of the fire and then laughing about it together at the pub. This one is just a visitor from out of town who didn't get the memo.
