Just pushed beta 40 that fixes this issue. Should be live within the next few hours.

This Update fixed it for me now, thanks!
I also experience it. Changing my Comment order from new to hot in the settings let's me open the posts again..edit Nevermind, still crashes when there is a comment or more. Only works when the post has zero comments. Crashes occurred after today's Update to the Version stated from OP.
Have you tried the basics? Clear cache, update app, reinstall
Seems like a common issue with Samsung phones running older versions of Android at this point.
Sony with Android 9 here. Have the issue since the last update, never had this bug since sync release.
Were images embedded in comments viewable for you prior to this update today?
No, this was another issue that has been fixed now :)
