Thank you! This blue/purple looks wild in person, guessing that it dips into the UV spectrum just enough to make colors really pop (and screw with my phone's light filters...)

Yep i always have huge problems photographing in strong coloured light. It knocks off the auto white balance and usually saturates one of the colour channels so stuff gets blown out. Especially UV because the camera's light meter has different sensitivity to it than the sensor. And it gives weird double images in some lenses (i guess chromatic aberration). I'm only an amateur so I don't have the best stuff.

Best thing is to manually calibrate white balance or just shoot raw, and keep a careful eye on the spectrogram to make sure all colours are properly exposed. And then adjust in post if it doesn't look right.

Yours are very well exposed though!

very well exposed

(I see what you did there)

And thanks! I remember waaaaaaaay back when I first learned about shooting in raw and how it felt like cheating just to be able to stop worrying about half the settings. What a wonderful format (to my poor overloaded hard drives: I'm sorry)

Hehe thanks 🤭 Yeah to someone coming from analog it could feel like 'cheating' I guess. Though you still have to get your exposure right (can't fix black crush or blown out parts). I use it more for white balance.

I'd love to see a high dynamic range sensor, similar to how those audio recorders all do 32-bit float these days.

I wish. Tho there was this one time at a festival with some photoluminescent bodypaint...

Good job with the lights and the pics. Great ass as a motive too. Combine this with some of the suspension bondage you did in the past and it would be perfect. 😜

Hahaha. Still working on getting the RGBs over to where the suspension bar is, but here's one from an older shoot playing around with directional lighting...

Amazing picture, very well done! Lovely to see you all tied up helplessly like that.

All credit to my photographer for that one, as much as "hanging around and looking pretty" is exhausting labor (as I'm sure we can all agree) they really worked some magic with that shoot.

Makes me wonder how long you were "hanging around" for that photo shoot. But I agree it must have been exhausting for you. In any case the result was worth the effort from both the model and the photographer.

I'm guessing that pose was only about ten minutes (my sense of the passage of time gets bad when I'm... distracted) but the session itself was a real marathon. Trial run for a performance at a local venue, so we (rigger + photo/spotter + me) must have run through like ten different positions by the end of the night.

Wow, sounds like you are really commited when you are performing. Hope all of you had some time for relaxation as well inbetween or afterwards.

2

Lmao they were sure tired, but like I said all I had to do was hang out and get tied up...

Oh you don't use Bamboo where you are? Here everyone does the bamboo thing lol.. I'm not super into shibari. But it's fun when you have visitors. They're like "such a nice touch in your interior design" lol.. they have no idea what it's really for.

Nah, plenty of folks here use it. But I also practice low-level aerial work at home, and unfortunately a big horkin' steel bar's ability to withstand thousands of half-falls without failing wins out over the undeniable aesthetic qualities of a bamboo beam.

Yeah true. You have to be really careful with those rods. Expensive too. I was just wondering because the local shibari community is 100% bamboo 🤭 well except when they use a ring. Those usually have the bdsm symbol in it.

Ps what is low level aerial work?

1

It's a popular material! Well seasoned bamboo cant be beat for aesthetics. Sadly my ceilings are too low to do any ringwork, it just sacrifices sooo much vertical space.

And aerial circus arts / aerial dance! I'm not terribly good, but it's a decent workout and there's a big local circus art community so its becoming a fun side hobby. Lots of overlap with suspension, too.

I swear I used to have a full RGB buttplug, but for the life of me I cannot find it :(

2

Dat ass is always cause for celebration! (Regardless of lighting 😄)

I always love seeing your posts because it's clear you put so much thought into the shots and have just as much fun with it.

Ayy, good to see you!

Really I just take a lot of photos and you only see the one-in-fifty where I don't do things like "obscure the whole bottom corner because I propped my phone up on a heap of dirty clothes instead of buying a tripod like a real adult" or "completely bollocks up the framing" or go with serving roadkill realness as my pose (pic related...)

5

Hahaha yeah I know how it goes. I also keep things super low-tech for when I post so I know the trials and tribulations of hoping for a single good shot out of a hundred. The worst is setting a timer shot and the phone juuuuust barely changing the angle enough to ruin the entire shot.

You do a heck of a better job than I do though (but that's mostly because you're too darn cute (or maybe I just really like bondage(or both 😂)))
