I'm a big fan of youth liberation, but became really invested in it after watching the leftist cooks video on the topic. As a parent today I have been keeping it in mind as an individual, but I think on a societal level we need to combat concepts like the nuclear family, which essentially treats children as the property of their parents and puts sole responsibility of caregiving on those parents. I believe prior to the nuclear family kids were raised more communally, which made the act of parenting a lot easier, but also spread the responsibility out a bit further. It meant kids had positive relationships with more adults who they could then confide in or even seek help from if their own parents were the problem. That kind of stuff. Of course, I'm not suggesting adult supremacy didn't exist back then, but I think we need both - a parental class that is more concious of this power dynamic, and an approach to caregiving that doesn't just give the parents both the responsibility of and power over their children.
Yes I think youth liberation is incredibly important, I'd say it's one of the things I'm most passionate about. I think you have the right idea, basically the nuclear family needs to be abolished and children need to be looked at as people and not family. They should be given communal care with the ability to choose the people they love
