McDonald’s is bringing back Monopoly after a decade — with a high-tech twist

McDonald’s is rebooting a fan-favorite game after a decade in an effort to spur sales. Once a cultural phenomenon, and even the subject of scandal, Monopoly is back.

The promotion is returning to US restaurants on October 6 for a limited time, but not in the way many of us remember. The physical board to track peeled-off pieces isn’t coming back. Rather, the game is getting a digital makeover that is largely played in the McDonald’s app for registered members of its loyalty program.

Of course its an app now. They are doing everything to try to get people to install their company app on phone. This is simply another play at that.

Went to drive thru for the first time in years and they asked if I'd be using the app. WTF is that? No! I have money, you have cheeseburgers. There's no need to bring an app into this transaction.

Unfortunately the people who regular mcdonalds also seem to be the people who don't realize how addicting and manipulative it's meant to be

and the food. The food is designed to be addicting, then when they aren't feeling like McDs they now have algorithms to target these poor people even more, all while convincing them it's saving them money.

The only BigMac I have ever eaten was a price on a monopoly ticket on the soda I ordered.

Ever since I wonder: why do people eat this shit? It tasted like a kitchen sponge with ketchup.
