What can we do to wake up the community?
Jays won the division and the community is still sleeping. What can we do?
i think automated game day threads are a start, but i'm not smart enough to make one
Would be nice to have a place on lemmy to cheer on the jays through the playoffs.
This will be our best chance to kickstart things here
LET'S GO BLUE JAYS!!!

Not too sure how to help, but I did want to say sports communities were the first ones i blocked from my feed, it’s tough when they get spammy, and risk of spoilers are too high.
That being said, it’s been a hell of a fun season to watch them play. Pretty neat seeing how much real fun they seemed to have almost every game.
Agreed, such a fun team to root for too!
I love your energy. Let's show up here during the playoffs and see if we can build the community a bit (edit: ie, please post [eg articles, discussion, art] and comment :), get some momentum going!
Hey there! One small thought, I imagine there are going to be a lot of bandwagon folks who will be interested this Saturday! You might consider a crosspost to c/Toronto or even on the main /canada communities? If I didn't have plans on Saturday, I'd be pretty curious about watching my first full baseball game on tv (I've only ever watched live or playing) and making it known there's a large game day thread or something might help folks stumble upon the community.
Just some unsolicited thoughts. (Hopefully I'll see you fine folks here for at least a few games this post season, apologies in advance for the dumb questions!)
Thank you for the suggestion! I believe that after porn sports is the second most disliked content on the Fediverse, so I'm not 100% sure how I feel about posting on a non-sports community, balancing reach versus overreach or something like that, I guess. Thanks again
wait.... people on the fediverse don't like porn and sports???? what's wrong with them??? 90% of the internet and all associated advances in our society are driven by porn...
[email protected] People like porn just fine. People are afraid if hosting it, though, because of both legal risks and issues with their hosting companies.
Ha, that is totally fair and probably a better read of the Fediverse.
