Bridge devices wirelessly?
I have a location where I can’t connect 2 places with a cable so I have set up 2 openWRT routers where one is working as a router and another one is connected to it via WiFi. The second one has WiFi bridged to Ethernet ports on it, so the connected devices are on the same network. Assuming I’d get a UX7 to replace the first one, how would I bridge the other place/what equipment could I use?
Depends on the range and what's between the two points. If it's building to building, you'd use the point to point bridges.
If it's just room to room, then the Unifi Wi-Fi APs do support wireless meshing and I'm pretty sure the Ethernet port then gets bridged to the parent AP.
Thanks, that’s what I’ve been able to learn since I wrote this post. It’s not room to room, but not building to building either. It’s like the distance between 2 apartments in a flat, something a pair of cheap routers flashed with OpenWRT were able to navigate, so I’m hoping a UX7 (which I got today) with U7-lite (arriving tomorrow) should handle;)
