Gear Discussion: Anyone running braid to leader for bass jigging? If so, what lines and leaders are you using?
Basically the title.
I'm running some nice Japanese braid but I feel like it's a bit small/thin/light for the application.
Just looking to find out what others use!
I run 20lb suffix braid to a 12 lb flouro leader on a 7ft fast action SLX with a 7.3:1 Tatula. With this setup, I felt like I have significantly better hookups with finesse jigs than full size. I also fish a lake with heavy pressure, so I usually opt for finesse jigs anyway.
Okay then maybe I'm not too far off.
I'm fishing more in that 3/8 to 1/2oz range, and I'm running 30lb braid to a 12 or 16lb fluoro leader, depending on how quickly the leader is getting chewed up.
I also just picked up a few finesse jigs recently so I'm gonna have to try them as well.
