Persistently the effort has been made to insist that those who advocate keeping our country able to defend its rights are merely adopting ‘the policy of the big stick.’ In reality, we lay equal emphasis on the fact that it is necessary to speak softly; in other words, that it is necessary to be respectful toward all people and scrupulously to refrain from wronging them, while at the same time keeping ourselves in condition to prevent wrong being done to us. If a nation does not in this sense speak softly, then sooner or later the policy of the big stick is certain to result in war. But what befell Luxembourg six weeks ago, what has befallen China again and again during the past quarter of a century shows that no amount of speaking softly will save any people which does not carry a big stick.

It's about optics more than anything, look at what ICE is doing, they won't hesitate to crack down on peaceful unarmed protests.

But regardless of the orders, violence isnt instigated against armed protesters.

A huge understatement. One of the other articles on this topic recently put it at something like 95%+ right-wing violence. (That article made a weird artificial distinction breaking Muslim violence out into a separate category to make right-wing violence look like a smaller number, but obviously there's no real difference between that and christofascists other than their team mascot.)

Here’s a post I made a couple days back that has similar info if you want to know who is spreading the violence. It’s a few studies done by reputable organizations like West Point and the NIH. All of them point to Right Wing violence and terrorism being a threat and more prevalent than anything from the Left.

These facts are another example of left wing terrorism on their feel-feels! 😭

The right is dominating so much right now it's even running laps around the "adventurist propaganda-of-the-deed left" whose whole thing used to be murder and planting bombs 5 times a month. It's probably for the best though, literally nothing came out of terrorism/adventurism like that except temporary spectacle and crackdowns.
