Updates

It’s been over a year since our last update. I want to apologise first and foremost. The project is absolutely not dead. I will breakdown the two primary objectives of the project overall 1) build an ActivityPods app (server software) of Memory. The architecture of ActivityPods is similar to ATProto in that data is very much decoupled and there are “AppViews” that take that same data and present it in different ways. 2) Build Memory client. This client won’t just work for ActivityPods accounts but it’s a multi-protocol multi platform client. It will work as a third-party ATProto/Bluesky account as well as for Mastodon API compatible accounts.

Right now we are prioritising step two. This will allow us to get our work in the hands of users faster and iterate based on user feedback. Memory’s design has been and will continue to be user-driven. Our designs were created based on feedback from our research; the focus was on what issues users came across with Bluesky and Mastodon. Both are great but nothing is perfect. We are doing our best to attempt to address users needs

Our project received a generous donation from Skyseed Shoutout to Skyseed! This has helped us tremendously and we are beyond grateful.

I’ve said this in the past but truly mean it. There will be actual frequent updates on the project. We are exploring other ways of community building

Look forward to sharing more soon!
