"Babalisa", my first pixel art character

After bingwatching all of Brandon James Greer's videos, I draw my first character: Babalisa.
Criticism and advice are more than welcome.Palette: Nanner Jam Palette by Nannerman
Reference: "Two Peasant Girls" by Vladimir MakovskyThe name is a reference to Baba Yaga and Vasilisa.
It looks really good. Also awesome to see snippets of how you got to the final result.
My only critique is the (test tube)? At first, I thought they were holding a can of air freshener but then I thought it could be a test tube or a a vegetable like a leek. The aroma/mist makes me think it's a test tube.
I was trying to think of a way to improve it (assuming it is a test tube). I think for sprite work, it needs to be over exaggerated. Maybe trying using a flask instead? The shape is a bit more iconic for the limited detail you can have in sprites.

Indeed, it's intended to be a test tube. I think you're right, an erlenmeyer or florence flask would work much better.
