Religions all inflate their numbers as much as possible. Some religions require long, dangerous, or stupid rituals and paperwork that nobody knows about. You can even say to their face that you're not part of their religion, but they don't care. They'll still count you as 'one of theirs" for all statistical purposes.

They've been manipulating this data for thousands of years, and know every single way to phrase a question to make religions look more prevalent than they are.

Acutal cellphone tracking shows that a few percent of people that claim to belong to a religion go to services more than once a year.
