I assume you just wait long enough and they starve. Though you can probably raise chickens up there, and have a little garden. I kind of want to live there now.

You’d probably have to be diligent about collecting rain water. That or dig one hell of a well.

They probably do, but in most cases I reckon you'll have the upper hand if you find yourself positioned above the ladder as someone's coming up it.
